Acacia installed a solar and bio-diesel system at Yering Station — ending the power outages that had been causing stock losses and disrupting events, and bringing the electricity bill down at the same time.
The Challenge
Unreliable electricity supply was causing stock losses and preventing Yering Station from running planned events. On top of that, high consumption and demand charges were driving up the winery's electricity costs.
The Solution
Acacia installed 140kW solar with a 550kVA bio-diesel generator synchronised to the grid via PowerXchange. The system provides reliable backup power for the winery and dispatches against wholesale market prices when conditions are favourable.
The Impact
Power outage-related stock losses eliminated. Electricity bill heavily reduced. And the confidence to run event services without disruption.
