The Challenge
Faced with infrequent but high-cost supply quality disturbances, Noumi required a means to protect sensitive production equipment and reduce operating cost.
Noumi also wanted to substantially improve the carbon footprint of its operations
The Solution
Acacia Energy developed a bespoke solution that paired a 1.2MWh Tesla Battery with Voltage Optimisation equipment to protect the site and deployed 3.8MW of rooftop solar PV, at the time the largest behind the meter solar solution in the country
The Impact
Acacia Energy’s renewable energy solution for Noumi protected critical operations from the impact of supply quality disturbances on five occasions in the first year, substantially improving the operational efficiency of the plant. In additional to this protection, the solution offset 5,589 tonnes of C02 emissions and reduced the electricity costs by $1.5M
